2023 Jezreel Valley Winery "Alfa"
90 Point Israel Red Blend
Jezreel Valley Winery is a boutique operation in Kibbutz Hanaton, nestled in Israel’s fertile Jezreel Valley. Established in 2012 by Jacob Ner-David and his team, the winery focuses on crafting wines that reflect Israel’s unique terroir and climate. They specialize in Mediterranean varietals like Syrah, Carignan, and the indigenous Argaman grape, aiming to produce wines that are both expressive and distinctly Israeli .
Each of the three varietals were picked, fermented and aged separately, then aged 14 months in (mostly used) french oak barrels. Finally, the varietals were blended meticulously.
The wine is dark garnet in color, with aromas of fresh ripe blackberries, cherries, and spices. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, featuring flavors of black and red berries, plums, graphite, and roasted herbs, complemented by fine acidity and soft tannins leading to a moderately long finish.
90 Points: Wine Enthusiast.
Assemblage: Syrah 50%/Argaman 30%/Cabernet Sauvignon 20%.
Kosher, Kosher for Passover. Mevushal. Vegan Friendly.
