2023 Troupis Winery Fteri Agiorgitiko
Troupis Winery is situated in the center of the Mantinea Plateau in Greece’s Fteri region, the heart of the namesake wine-growing zone. The family has been involved in viticulture since the 1970s, when they used to make their own wine for the year and sell the remaining grapes. The winery’s history began in 2010, when the family decided to invest in their privately owned vineyards of a total area of 7 hectares. Since then the winery has developed in terms of its facilities, equipment and personnel, resulting in the production of fine quality wines and the provision of quality services to its clients.
"Fteri Agiorgitiko" spends several days macerating at relatively low temperatures. The wine is a characteristic dark red/purple color, with fragrances of gooseberry and pomegranate.
The wine is supple and spicy, with velvety tannins, leaving pleasant hints of spices and butter caramel.
Although red, it is best enjoyed lightly chilled and provides a perfect accompaniment to flavors such as braised meat in tomato, grilled meats and coq au vin.
